Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. Clinical Hypnosis usually referred to as hypnotherapy is the use of an induced deep relaxation state of mind and body. People are not treated with hypnosis but are treated in hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy treatment is an agreement of consent and cooperation between client and therapist. Hypnosis is not a magic wand, and no one can make you do anything you do not want to do, you are in complete control throughout the session and if uncomfortable all you need do is to open your eyes to end the session.
Is Hypnosis safe, yes, it is completely safe, relaxing and meant to be an enjoyable experience.
You can end the session by opening your eyes anytime, you will not get stuck in a state of hypnosis and it is good practice for any Hypnotherapist to guide you to finalise your session regardless of any emergency situations.
Our minds work on two levels – the conscious and the unconscious. We make decisions, think and act with our conscious mind.
The unconscious mind controls our habits the automatic part of you that continues to perform habits that no longer serve you. Hypnotherapy is a gentle, powerful therapy where I can facilitate communication constructed and agreed by you during the first part of the session to make those changes effortlessly, but you need to continue to do the work.
Like any habit it takes time for it to become a repeated action and when we change matters for the better to benefit our over-all Health and Wellness then we need to repeat those positive actions to become the habits that will make those changes you desire.
I would encourage you to really have a deep thought about your commitment to you and choose a package of your choice.
Hypnosis is a natural therapy which by consent in the preliminary session you agree with me what you would like to hear while in a deep relaxed state, changes you want to make in your life. I help you to tap into your own self-repairing, self-empowering abilities, that is the part of your mind/body that knows what is wrong, out of balance, and talking to the part of your mind/body that knows how to change/transform/rebalance.
Hypnotherapy does not cause you to forget as you are not asleep while in an induced state of deep relaxation. There can be a tendency for one to fall asleep, but I do not allow that to happen as you do need to stay in that induced state of heightened awareness to receive the benefit of your session.
It is a powerful tool with a short-term influence effecting long term change and benefit to your mental, emotional, physical well being.
Prior to the trance state, you and I will work out the tapestry of experiences, and suggestions directed to your unconscious mind. The body needs to be deeply relaxed and I use a number of inductions to allow your conscious mind to take a back seat while we focus your attention with your heightened state of awareness to plant seeds of change as discussed in the preliminary session.
It clears the way for deeper processing and acceptance to the changes you wish to make. In our regular mental state, we can be cluttered, many thoughts, feelings, reactions all looking for our attention.
The impacts vary with different people as every individual is different, the reason your session is tailored to your particular issues.
As I mentioned in my profile, I offer a free consultation as Hypnotherapy may not be suitable for every person or presenting issue.
Transform You Hypnosis will reserve the right to refuse our services after a complimentary session and can refer to appropriate agencies to assist you further.
As a duty of care to you, if you are under the care of a Psychologist, Counsellor, Psychiatrist then a referral or letter of agreement is required before I can accept you as a client.
There are many varying reasons for this, and it is acceptable in my professional opinion to work with a number of practitioners, but one has to be mindful so open, transparent clear communication is key, in your best interests.
